MASTER IN COMPUTER APPLICATION

Application & Admission:

The MCA programme prepares students to take up positions as system analysts, system designers, programmers, and managers in any field related to information technology. the programme, therefore, aims at imparting comprehensive knowledge with equal emphasis on theory and practice. the MCA students are encouraged to spend a full semester working in the industry/ in the institute giving them insight into the workings of the IT world. however, the course curriculum will have enough flexibility to enable a student to undertake advance studies in computer science later on.

Course Contents:

The course is to be completed in maximum 6 semesters.

Eligibility:

(a) Lateral Entery(2 Year)

Lateral entry to MCA 3rd semester is allowed to the candidate who have already successfully completed:

(i) PGDCA / PGDIT or its equivalent programme from a recognized University.

(ii) 'A' level examination of DOEACC, after Graduation.

(iii) BCA, BSc(IT), BSc(Computer Sc) or BSc having Computer Science/IT as a major subject.

Candidate desirous of taking admission in MCA 3rd semester (lateral entry) will have to pay course fees only for the semester to be completed. However such candidates have to pay an exemption fee of Rs. 2000/- only per semester exempted, alongwith the admission fees.

(b) Direct Entry (3 Year)

Any Graduate of a recognized University / Institute having mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level. Those who have not studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level will be required to successfully complete the mathematics syllabus as per BCA course structure of Sambalpur University concurrently with the 1st/2nd Semester of MCA Course and such candidates are required to pay an additional fee of Rs. 2000/-.

Fee Structure:

The University provides easy installment facility for payment of course fees.

The Course Fees for MCA is @ Rs.9,000/- Per Semester which is payable as follows:

(i) Rs. 9,000/- to be sent along with the Application for Admission towards 1st/3rd Semester Fees.

(ii) Rs. 9,000/- to be paid within 30.06.2007.

(iii) Rs. 9,000/- to be paid within 31.12.2007.

(iv) Rs. 9,000/- to be paid within 30.06.2008 (Final Installment for Lateral Entry students).

(v) Rs. 9,000/- to be paid within 31.12.2008.

(vi) Rs. 9,000/- to be paid within 30.06.2009 (Final Installment for Direct Students).

vii) Exemption fees for candidates admitted under lateral entry (@Rs. 2500 X 2 Semester) i.e., an additional amount of Rs.5000/- is to be sent along with the Application at the time of Admission (Total Rs. 14000/- at the time of admission for lateral entry student). 

(iv) Examination fees for MCA is @ Rs.500/- per Semester to be paid at the time of examination.

(v) For Direct Candidates who have not studied Mathematics at 10+2 / Graduation are required to deposit an  additional fees of Rs. 2000/- along with the Admission Form at the time Admission.
